This advanced Lithium-Ion Phosphate accumulator offers a highly competitive storage system with attractive technical features. It can be stacked in parallel with up to 40 units and has an internal BMS which manages the cycles of charge and discharge, increasing its life.

The battery uses lithium iron phosphate technology, which does not contain heavy metals and is environment friendly. It also does not produce toxic gases during operation and meets European RoHS regulations.

In addition, NREL’s mechanical characterization capabilities, including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and X-ray diffraction computed tomography, enable researchers to understand what happens inside a lithium-ion battery during, and after, failure – providing data that helps manufacturers design safer batteries. 5. Reliability

Modern lithium-ion battery technology works on the movement of ions between the positive and negative electrodes. In theory this mechanism should work forever, but cycling, elevated temperature and aging decrease performance over time. Cycle count is an inaccurate indicator of a battery’s health, as the depth of discharge can vary from charge to discharge. EV batteries are typically specified with a number of cycles, but this doesn’t take usage into account.

A more accurate assessment is the real reliability of a battery pack, which can only be obtained by evaluating degradation data over its life. A reliability block diagram model (RBD) estimates a battery pack’s real reliability, but it assumes that the cells are independent of each other, which leads to an error in evaluation results.
